Kiel is like a brother to me and he is closer than a brother to my husband, Jonathan. We have considered ourselves his family for many years, and this difficult season is no exception. I know that many of you consider Kiel to be family as well, and that is why I am asking for your help.
I am believing the Lord for a full restoration of time, money, health and opportunity for my brother. This GoFundMe has been created in order for us, his family, to help Kiel afford to rest and not worry about a single thing as he recovers from his recent emergency surgery.
The $1,500 I am raising on Kiel's behalf would cover his major living expenses for July and August. This is crucial, because Kiel will not need to immediately return to work upon being released from the hospital.

On Saturday, July 15, Kiel began experiencing sharp, unexplainable pain in his abdomen. At first, he thought it was just a case of "the Pizza Huts," as in, maybe it was just something he ate. But as the pain persisted, he began to realize something else was wrong.
After a few hours of extreme pain, Kiel assumed he must be dealing with kidney stones. When the pain became unbearable, he called Jonathan and asked him to take him to the emergency room at North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton.
The doctor in Hamilton had Kiel go for a CT scan. The scan revealed a carcerated hernia (hole in his muscle), and a loop of Kiel's bowel had gotten stuck in the hernia. The doctor explained that the pain Kiel was experiencing was due to the muscle contracting (squeezing the bowels to death), which cut off the blood supply to his bowels. In short, Kiel's bowels were dying.
The doctor recommended that Kiel be rushed by ambulance to the larger hospital in Tupelo for an emergency surgery. Jonathan and I followed in his car as they took him to North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo for the procedure.
It was around 8 p.m. when we arrived in Tupelo. We were able to pray with Kiel and talk to him as his nurses prepared him for surgery.
Around 10 p.m., we got the news that Kiel's bowel resection surgery was successful. The surgeon was able to cut the muscle, free the bowel, cut off the dead section, and reconnect his bowels.
Today (Thursday, July 20) is day four of Kiel's hospital stay, not including the day of surgery. While Kiel is expected to make a full recovery (thank you, Jesus), he will be resting and healing from this serious procedure for several weeks.
At this time we are unsure of exactly how long his hospital stay will be--but we know it is safe to assume he will be there for several more days as the staff begins to introduce his digestive system to a liquid diet again, then soft foods, and then solid foods.
When Kiel does get to come home, he will not be able to go straight back to work, as he will not be able to lift much for a few weeks.
Please continue to pray for miracles in Kiel's body as well as miracles in his bank account. Kiel believes in God's unending goodness and has remained remarkably strong throughout this entire event. I'm proud to call him my brother.
