Climb for the Kids! A Fundraiser for the Angel Membership Fund at KidsPlay Children's Museum

In the late summer of 2017, I came across an event put on by serial entrepreneur Jesse Itzler. The opportunity was simple – run, walk, or hike to the summit of Stratton Mountain and take the gondola down. And then repeat that 16 more times over 36 hours. The route represents a vertical elevation change of 1,750 feet over 1.3 miles. In total, participants would travel over 22 miles and climb over 29,000 feet, which happens to also be the same elevation change as climbing Mount Everest.
I have decided to take Jesse up on his challenge this year! I am dedicating my participation in the 29029 Everest Challenge to helping more disadvantaged children have unlimited access to KidsPlay Children's Museum .
Earlier this year, I joined the Board of Directors of Kids Play Childrens’ Museum located in Torrington, CT. It is a very special place providing wonderful opportunities for kids to learn, explore, and play – something that seems to be missing in so many youth’s lives today. As a child, I spent many hours at a local children's’ museum and know firsthand the benefits such a place can bring, which is why I chose to get involved with the KidsPlay.
For each $75 raised, an under-resourced family will have unlimited access to KidsPlay Children's Museum for six months. My goal is to ensure more than 64 families (4 for each time I reach the summit) will have Angel Memberships this winter. This "Climb for the Kids" can help create positive outcomes for children and donations are also tax deductible.
I chose this challenge because I knew it would be extremely difficult and take me way out of my comfort zone. I would be so honored if you would support me by helping to support those who need it most.
