Kids Should Not Sleep On Wet Floors

Kids should not have to sleep on wet floors or on the floor period.   Due to Hurricane Harvey, hundreds of children in rural communities such as Bloomington, Placedo, Seadrift, Tivoli, Refugio and other super small communities, have been left sleeping on wet or damage floors of what is left  of their homes.  Many of these families do not have insurance and don't know when they will be able to rebuild.  These super small communities were hit extremely hard by Harvey, some sustaining winds of over 100+ mph with both rain and flooding.   My name is Erica Briggs.  I am a native of Victoria, grew up here and lived about 5 miles from Bloomington.  Our family also has property in Bloomington and my mother-in-law was born and raised there.  I have felt compelled to help these small communities while the media attention has been on larger towns and now another hurricane.   I am working with the The First Baptist Church of Bloomington, Texas and they are planning to help these families provide small air mattresses, pillows and other bedding while they figure out how to rebuild.   In order to do this, we need your help.  We have contacted several large companies that are willing to heavily discount items, but need help from our neighbors to make these purchases.    $10 will help 1 child get a dry place to sleep, pillow and blanket.   There are an estimated 500-700 children that have been affected by this storm in our area and we are waiting on numbers from more outlying areas.   Anything you can do to help, is enormously appreciated.  We are planning to make these purchases before September 11th, so please share and donate if you're able.
