Help Me With Living Donation Costs

My name is Robert Kimble and I need a kidney transplant. I am collecting some financial help to cover costs I have had to pay out along they way such as my travel to other states to become listed on their registries, lost time working while hospitalized and or time dealing with kidney disease. My story:

In late 2012 I became ill with pneumonia which turned into Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. I was on life support and made it thru a 9.5 month hospital stay. I had to learn to sit, stand, walk talk and eat again. However, the only thing that I have not regained is my kidney function.

I work full time, working days to the best of my ability. I do nocturnal dialysis 3 nights a week after work from 8pm til approx 3am. I have been on dialysis approaching 5 years now.

If you wonder what having kidney failure is like....imagine your first time driving a manual transmission. It's a delicate touchy process and sometimes you just sputter out! It requires constant awareness of your fluid intake and diet and It's on your mind from the minute you wake til you go to sleep. Routine lab work is done and used as a dashboard....but even with constant involvement with my medical team I have been in and out of the hospital a number of times since 2012, sometimes costing me my paycheck. However I was blessed by my company and President Obama for the provisions of uncapped benefits via the ACA.

I am listed on the transplant list at University of Michigan, the hospital that saved my life. I believe one way or another they will save/improve it again.

Seeking a living donation kidney is highly recommended as they typically last longer than deceased donor kidneys. However I would be forever grateful for either! I have already reached out to my family and many friends....many have been precluded from moving further for health or other reasons. UM is very selective for my and your well being.
