Kidney patient loses home in fire

Donation protected
The rental house in this picture was the only home of my lifelong friend, Janice Zaklukiewicz, until it was decimated by fire on the morning of August 9, 2017. Fortunately, Janice was not in the house at the time; she was out of town being evaluated for a kidney transplant. A native of Bohemia, NY, Janice spent years working for the Suffolk County Police Department and then Islip Town Public Safety until she was forced to retire and go on disability due to her battle with multiple sclerosis. A one time vibrant volunteer in special education classrooms and for the Clearly School for the Deaf, Janice's activities were further struck down in 2004 when she was diagnosed with kidney disease. On August 22, 2006 her only son, Chris, passed away due to complications caused by pneumonia. Janice moved to Myrtle Beach 2007 and attempted to find a new life only to have her kidney diagnosis turn to kidney failure. Janice now suffers from stage 5 kidney failure and has to have dialysis treatments 3 days a week. The fire has destroyed everything Janice owned and she needs help securing a place to live and acquiring clothing to replace what was lost. All donations will go to help Janice put back together the basics of life so that she can continue her medical battle. Thank you.

You can see the fire on http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/news/local/article166197077.html.

Any contributions or donations would be greatly appreciated to help Janice secure a place to live and some clothin
