Kickin' These Kidneys to Cleveland

At the young age of 12, Zach and his closest family and friends were shocked with the news that he had developed Kidney Disease. Now at the age of 20, Zach is still severely suffering with the disease; enduring about one kidney infection a month since this January. The kidneys are important organs in the human body as they produce hormones, absorb minerals, extract waste from the blood, balance body fluids, and produce urine. The vital functions that the kidneys perform, as well as the toxins they come in contact with, make them susceptible to a multitude of problems. When a person has Kidney Disease their kidneys become damaged and are no longer able to perform the functions they were intended to. The damage of the kidneys will cause wastes to build up in the body. As these wastes build up, Zach finds himself enduring many infections that constantly bring him to spend weeks in the hospital. This leaves him unable to work and his mother, Diane, having to resign from her job to take better care of him. Unfortunately, the urology team working with Zach's case is leaving him without answers. Therefore, after much thought and prayer, Zach and Diane have made the decision to go to the Celveland Clinic to find the answeres they have been waiting for and better Zach's health. The Cleveland Clinic is home to Dr. Hadley Wood who works in their Urology Department. Not only does Dr. Wood specialize in Urology and have tremendous reviews for her work within urology, but she also specializes in patients with Spina Bifida; another condition Zach endures. There are high hopes that Dr. Wood has the experience and knowledge needed to help Zach better his health. Zach and Diane will be leaving on September 10th and meeting with Dr. Wood on Septmeber 11th. This GoFundMe is being made in hopes that the family can receive help for trip expenses, gas while driving, a place to stay while in Cleveland, etc. Any amount that can be donated is greatly appreciated.
