Kicking Cancer with Karen!

Our mom {Karen McBride} was diagnosed with stage 3 Breast Cancer in October 2013. The news devastated our family, but mom remained her usual self - calm and positive. After extensive research, mom and dad chose an integrative plan of action, which incorporates conventional and alternative treatments, toting promising results. After 9 months of treatments through Oasis of Hope hospital her cancer cells are shrinking remarkably, but she needs continued treatment to finish healing. Sadly, mom's integrative approach is not covered by insurance. Enourmous medical bills, from previous treatment, as well as current and future treatment, are becoming a burden to our parents. We fear she will not be able to continue treatments without a financial miracle.

She has been a loving wife and mother for the past 32 years, and soon will be a first-time grandma! We believe we have the best mom in the world. While raising four kids, she also ran her own preschool; helping children has been her life-long passion, and she has touched countless hearts along the way, kids and parents alike. People love her kind smile, nurturing heart, and fighting personality. A long-time hobby of mom's is taekwondo, which she has practiced alongside her children for the past nine years, and has proudly earned the rank of 2nd degree black belt.
