Kiara and Family Support

Kiara is a beautiful, strong, smart and brave young girl who has been faced with some challenges, especially these last few months.    Back in November 2016, Kiara learned she has an astrocytoma tumor running through the majority of her thoracic vertebrae.  Since then, she has had a couple surgeries and more recently has struggled with losing strength and the ability to walk. 

Kiara has a wonderful team of doctors working with her and her family.  The medical team has decided that it was time to be more aggressive and take care of the tumor through a one year cycle of chemotherapy to prevent permanent nerve damage.  On January 25, Kiara had a chemo port installed and later that evening, she received her first chemotherapy infusion. 
 
Kiara is now at Blythedale Children's Hospital in NY to continue her rehabilitation.

Kiara has proven herself time and time again to be one tough young girl!  She has remained positive and works so very hard.  We continue to be amazed by her persistence, determination and strength.  We are very PROUD of her!

Despite how difficult this has been, Todd and Lisa have been so amazing!!  Kiara is blessed to have them by her side throughout this journey. Todd and Lisa have been very appreciative of all the kind words and support.  Thank You!
