My Bone Marrow Transplant Journey
Donation protected
I am a retired school teacher since 2008. Then I continued working as a substitute to make ends meet. Last month, December 2014, I was diagnosed with Leukemia. The only symptoms were unexplained bruises on my body. I have been getting Chemotherapy, and my doctors are recommending a bone marrow transplant which will take place in San Antonio, Texas. At the moment I am living in the Austin Area with my children. The bone marrow transplant will require me and my caregivers to rent an apartment close to the hospital for about 3 months.
Even though I am blessed with family support, I know it will be a financial burden on them. With your generosity, my family and I will be able to weather this time of hardship. We appreciate your kind donations. Nothing is too small. Thank you.
