Love for The Love's

Donation protected
In 2013, at the age of 23, my brother Darrian donated 68% of his liver to save our father. It was an amazing, courageous and selfless gesture, and it was successful. He healed quickly and was back to his old self faster than any of us thought possible for what he went through.
However, since his surgery he has been having episodes of stomach pain. He has been in and out of the hospital, each time with no answers.
Very early Sunday morning, January 18, Darrian and Amy returned to the hospital in Calgary once again because Darrian was experiencing extreme stomach pain. After some tests and an x-ray, it was (once again) diagnosed as a minor issue. He was given different pain meds that didn't help the pain and was finally given a CT Scan. It was discovered that there was a 4 inch hole in his diaphragm. Doctors decided that he would need an operation and began attempting to schedule one. While waiting, Darrian's blood pressure began dropping, and things got very bad very quickly, as they couldn’t find a pulse and he went into shock. He was rushed into surgery around 3pm January 18. After nearly 6 hours of surgery, we found out that Darrian's intestines had pushed through the hole in his diaphragm where they died because they were strangulated and had cut off blood supply, this affected his heart, and put pressure on his lungs. His dead bowel was essentially poisoning him. Doctors removed about 3 feet of his bowel and some of his colon to save his life. Due to his unstable blood pressure and heart rate, he was taken out of surgery but kept sedated until January 19, when they completed a second surgery to finish cleaning him out and fixing his organs. He is young and otherwise healthy, and he is a fighter! It is now clear that this issue was a complication from his initial liver surgery and it is unknown how this will affect his future.
Darrian is a full time University student, and also works to support his little family; his wife Amy, a stay-at-home mom, and their almost-1-year-old baby girl Hannah. With this surgery, Darrian will have to postpone his final University semester to next year. As a student and young person, he does not have benefits, and will not be able to collect EI because of the nature of his job. He will be unable to work for at least a few months.
I am asking for your help to raise some money for my brother, a selfless man, a hero, a husband, a father, a son. Let's help him and Amy be able to pay their bills while he is recovering, until he is able to work to support his family again safely. Help relieve the financial pressure so they can focus on him gaining strength.
Any donation is appreciated and I thank you in advance for your consideration, thoughts, and prayers.
