Help Michael and His Family

Hi friends,

For the past 2+ years, I've been mentoring Michael through The Family Center in NYC. He and I have become really close and I've gotten to know his large, happy family really well. This weekend, their apartment caught on fire and while they were evacuated, was broken into. They lost everything and are currently living in a one room apartment with his grandmother until they receive help from The Red Cross. Their apartment is unlivable and they have no clothing, no shoes, nothing. Michael and his twin sister are 13 years old, he has three cousins who he lives with (boy age 9, girl age 14 and girl age 19) and his aunt who raises everyone is in her early 40s. I would like to raise money for them to buy new clothing, shoes, winter coats and most importantly, school uniforms (the children attend a charter school in NYC). They will also need new furniture / essentials once they find a housing solution. Thank you and trust me, this is one beautiful, strong family who would be very grateful for any help, no matter how big or small.
