Sylvia's Medical Fund

Just a few days ago my brother and his wife were faced with tragic news. They were expecting a beautiful angel, Sylvia, at 30 weeks of gestation.  Sylvia had decreased her movements inside her mommy's belly which prompted mommy to go to the hospital.  At the hospital the doctors decided to quickly intervene and deliver her by emergency C-section.  Sylvia suffered from what is called Fetal Maternal Hemorrhage/transfusion and was born severely anemic.  Just a couple of hours after her delivery she had to be flown to Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami for a neurological evaluation. Her parents and all of us who love them are distraught by this situation.  Even though we know that money cannot fix everything, it would be one less burden that they have to worry about right now.  First and most important, we ask for your prayers, that may GOD grant them strength, may GOD grant them peace, and may GOD grant them comfort.  Strength to accept what they cannot change.  Peace in knowing that they are doing everything that they can for Sylvia and that this is something that they could not have been prevented. And comfort in knowing that they are not alone during the most devastating moment of their life. If you are able to make a donation, I am sure they would be profoundly grateful, if not, know that your prayers are profoundly appreciated as well.  

Hace apenas unos días mi hermano y su esposa se enfrentaron a trágicas noticias.  Esperaban un hermoso ángel, Sylvia, a 30 semanas de gestación.  Sylvia había disminuido sus movimientos dentro del vientre de su mamá, lo que llevó a mamá a ir al hospital.  En el hospital los doctores decidieron intervenir rápidamente y traerla al mundo por cesárea de emergencia.  Sylvia sufrío de lo que se conoce como hemorragia feto-materna y nació severamente anémica.  Apenas en un par de horas después de su nacimiento, tuvo que ser trasladada al Hospital Infantil Nicklaus de Miami para una evaluación neurológica.  Sus padres y todos los que los amamos estámos sumamente angustiados por esta situación.   A pesar de que sabemos que el dinero no puede arreglar todo, sería una carga y preocupación menos en este momento.  Lo principal y lo más importante, pedimos de sus oraciones, para que Dios les conceda fuerza, que Dios les conceda paz, que Dios les conceda consuelo. Fuerza para aceptar lo que no pueden cambiar. Paz en saber que están haciendo todo lo que pueden para Sylvia y que esto es algo que no podría haber sido evitado. Y consuelo de saber que no están solos durante el momento más devastador de su vida.
