Dad's creamation

My dad, Ray Therrien, passed away unexpectedly January 17, 2015.  He did have throat cancer, but his doctors had told him that the tumors have shrunk.  He was in great spirits and feeling well.  

It is believed that he had a heart attack in his sleep.  

I am an only child and my father did not have any assets. It is going to cost me 2,400 dollars to have a very small memorial service and get him cremated.  

Any help I can get towards this would be greatly appreciated.
