St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown
Donation protected
In 2019 at the age of 61, my dad , Des, was diagnosed with a brain tumor . The doctors had good hope that they would be able to operate and give him treatment to give him a good shot at a good number od extra life.
Unfortunately , in January of 2021, my dad was told his brain tumor was now terminal .
Over the past number of weeks, my dad has been receiving respite care in St Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown. While it is often said about hospice staff , they really are incredible! Without going into the finer details of my fathers treatment, the staff have given him his strength back, that we now hope to have time we didn’t expect to have a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, everybody at some point in their life will know somebody who needs the care of a hospice . The hospice is underfunded and relies heavily on donations . With the use of my platform, I hope to give them a little something to thank them for doing everything they have for my father but also so many others .
The hospice we are raising funds for took care of my dad while he was sick. The funds raised will be given directly to St Francis Hospice where it will go towards helping other people who have reached end of life
