Key River - Needs Your Help!

On July 18th, 2018 a forest fire was started south of the Key River area, reaching 53.8 hectares in size by 5:15 pm that evening. By July 20th, this enormous blaze had consumed over 4,841 hectares of land, and has still not been controlled. A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for the Key Harbour area and on both the south and north sides of the Key River, south of French River Provincial Park, Killarney, French River to Pickerel River, and from Georgian Bay to Highway 69. 

The Key River Area Association (KRAA) is a tight knit cottage/camp community that supports local projects for the betterment of life and environment of the area. Projects & initiatives  normally include fish habitat restoration,  Key River navigation buoy maintenance, environmental projects/education,  helipad maintenance, political advocacy and many other social endeavours for our youth and community.

We need your help for a completely different and compassionate purpose. Many families have lost their homes, their camps/cottages, and priceless memories due to this human caused disaster. Please consider donating to this fund that will go towards Key River Area projects to help restore the area's devastation. Your support at this critical and tragic time would be greatly appreciated.
