Saturday evening my brother and five other students were involved in a horrific hit and run accident in a parking lot at Mankato State. My brother, Kevin, and one other student were air lifted to the Mayo Clinic, having recieved the most severe damage.
Sunday, Kevin received his first surgery to help cleanse and close the wound on his lower leg. The leg will require further surgery Tuesday and in the coming weeks to repair bone and muscle damage, and a great amount of work to encourage bone growth where there is some missing.
My brother is working hard on recovery, and my parents and I are spending as much time as possible in Rochester at the Mayo Clinic to help support and provide encouragement. Any financial support would be helpful in covering medical expenses for Kevin and the expenses of my family staying in town to be with him.
