On October 26th, our sweet KeShawn was shot in the back, in front of his own home, by a complete stranger, through no fault of his own. The bullet entered through the back of his shoulder landing at his neck where it completely severed his spinal cord. Ke is 17 years old. He is permanently paralyzed from the chest down. As tragic and catastrophic as this senseless act has been, the salt in the wound is the chaos this family has been thrust into. Ke’s family is a working class family and cannot possibly afford the hundreds of thousands of dollars needed to care for a paraplegic in their first year. His mother had to quit her job to care for Ke full time, losing a very necessary income for their small family. Please help them, every little bit helps. They genuinely need the support of their community. This is going to be a very long battle for them.
