Kerry’s Stem Cell Transplant Journey

Donation protected
As many of you know our dear friend Kerry Skrudland was diagnosed with AML leukaemia on June 5. She had been feeling sick since mid March with what felt like flu symptoms. One final blood test in late May finally showed the blood cancer.
Kerry was admitted to RUH in Saskatoon on June 7th for 37 days, after which she was able to come home but she needed to continue with maintenance chemo, which meant many trips back and forth to Saskatoon.
Kerry’s next step is to receive a stem cell transplant on September 15th. She has a 100% match from somewhere in the world. Kerry is so incredibly grateful to her donor who is giving her this incredible gift.
After transplant Kerry will need to stay in hospital for a minimum of 5 weeks, after which she will need to live in Saskatoon for at least 3 months so she is in close proximity to hospital in case of emergency.
We know many people have been asking how they can help Kerry and her family during this stressful time. We are collecting donations to help off set costs due to lost wages, travel, accommodations and meals. We will also accept gift cards, email transfers and cash on their behalf. You can text us at these numbers if you have questions regarding donations.
