Keri's Medical Fund

As many of you know, our mom Keri Steffan, born and raised in Defiance,Ohio has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer. Keri has spent the majority of her life working at the social clubs around Defiance, Ohio starting back at the Barley Pop Shop. She has gained an amazing family through her customers shes served and just the same they have become some of her greatest friends and memories . Throughout her 21 year career as bartender in Defiance, you may have been served by her at The Barley Pop Shop , Maags Cafe, Amvets Post, Eagles, and the VFW. Her smile is contagious as well as her sense of humor. She now is enjoying her time working at the Palmetto Florida VFW. She recently moved down to Florida which has been one of her life long dreams. She loves the sunshine, the beach and no snow. But the happy comes with tough times and to catch everyone up to date on her medical  journey she has recently undergone a Lung Lobectomy where they removed the upper part of her lung in efforts to remove the cancerous cells, however, they were not able to remove it all and she is now undergoing intensive chemo and radiation treatments. The side effects from treatments vary for each patient but knowing Mom she will work herself beyond exhaustion. Resting will be key in this fight and if she is so focused on money we know she won't rest. We want to help set up a financial fund for her to be able to use during this tough time.  Money is always something on all of our minds especially when we are not able to work as much as we need to.  She travels an hour each way for treatment and this fund can be used for gas, food, and hotel stays if needed. It will also help pay for bills that pile up such as car payments, insurance, rent, groceries and cell phone bills. This monster disease has affected so many people we know and many people you know and all we can do is be supportive in anyway we can. We understand everyone's budget is different ( trust me we get it! ) but just know every single dollar will help. Prayers, well wishes, and thinking of her during her recovery will also help greatly too! Thank you all for your donations, love and support.
