Mission: Kenya

Hey, everyone!
   This is Kayla Day writing to tell you about an important missions internship I have accepted!  It will be overseas at Maua Methodist Hospital in Meru County, Kenya from July 26th-September 14th.  I have dreamed about using my skills and love for children, in this way and now it is a reality!  not only will I be able to serve, but this work will be going towards my Master's Degree in Social Work.
   I will be there with a small American team from Sodzo International, a non-profit that partners with Kenyan locals to provide rehabilitation and opportunities to street children there.  Children suffering from common addictions, PTSD, physical & sexual violence, and malnutrition receive medical help at the hospital and then enter a longer term residential program at a nearby school/farm.  in addition to learning agricultural and other skills, they receive the greatest hope: the gospel. Kenya is a place of no hope, but once one receives the necessities of life, they can slowly begin to focus instead on feeling the stir of the Lord in their hearts. Hope begins to emerge and transformation can happen.
   This $4000, along with my own money will cover airfare, transportation, food, and accomodations at the hospital.  I will need to raise this money by June 1st! 

Understand that your money will be used for God’s glory.  I am in just as much need for your prayers in this endeavor. Pray not only that I will be able to raise the full amount needed, but also that God will prepare my heart and the hearts of the children I’m going to share the Lord’s transformative love with.

God is doing miraculous things in Kenya and I would be so honored by your support!
