THE STIGMA OF MENTAL ILLNESS & POVERTY IN KENYA
Mental Illness is taboo in Kenya. Not many seek treatment because according to their traditional beliefs, they think people are suffering from a spiritual sickness. The graduate students in the Multi-Cultural Counseling Class will be embarking on a mission trip this summer to provide awareness and resources. Through our efforts and YOUR donations we are going to build a home for a family, who's head of household is a woman.
All donations will be used for building supplies, over the counter medications, hygiene and first aid supplies. Any donation means more than you'll know! We are excited for this trip and grateful to be given this opportunity to helps others! We hope you'll join us in these efforts!
