Help Send Hannah to Kenya: Senior Mission Trip

Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends-

Jambo! We are excited to share that our church (Freedom Church) will be returning to Nairobi, Kenya on a short-term mission trip in February 2020 and my daughter, Hannah, and I have been invited to be part of the team!

Hannah (17) recently graduated early from high school (we are a homeschooling family) and this trip will serve as her Senior Mission trip. Like her Mom, she has a heart for Missions and has served on several trips with our family and Youth for Christ to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, her first one was at the age of 9. My husband and I also served on two trips to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf coast in 2005. We are grateful for the many opportunities we've had to teach our children to help others, and it's a total joy to serve with them in ministry and watch them grow to care for those in need.

This will be Hannah's first trip to Africa (mine too) and she has expressed great excitement about serving with our church team, learning and growing as she helps others, and being used by God to do amazing things for the people in Kenya.

Freedom Church has served in Kenya for the past 4 years, partnering with Pastor Andrew Guya (and his wife Doreen) and supporting his heart and vision for his community in Nairobi. The team served in Pastor Andrew's church, the Family Worship Center (with attached school),  nearby community Shujaa Empowerment Center, and the Amani Children's Home/Orphanage a few hours away.

Pastor Kelly & Freedom Church missionaries have shared God's love and ministered to both the physical and spiritual needs of the people of Nairobi through many acts of service, and while we are in Kenya we will serve in many of the same ways:

-Serving alongside Alfred and Irene Bahati at the Amani Children's Home/Orphanage.

- Children's Ministry at Ngegu School (public school).

-Sports Camps, Teaching Cooking Classes, Vacation Bible School.

-Digging a Well, Planting Gardens & Fruit Trees.

-Shujaa Empowerment Center: Job Training and Leadership Development to lift people from poverty.

-Community Work Projects, Construction (current need for a kitchen to be built in the church school).

-Village Prayer & Evangelism, Outreach opportunities.

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
(Mark 16:15)

We feel blessed to have this opportunity to serve and be the hands and feet to help the Kenyans move forward in their communities and in their relationship with the Lord. There is much preparation needed over the next 4 months and we could use your help.

First, we would be honored if you would pray for us: for our preparation, our journey, our ministry, and for any spiritual battles ahead.

Secondly, we need help raising financial support for our trip. Our team of 19 missionaries has been entrusted with raising $2,200 each with the final balance due by February 1, 2020. The total for the two of us is $4,400 and we are excited as we trust God to provide.

Thank you for prayerfully considering to partner with us. Your Prayer support and Financial support are greatly appreciated. Please pray that that our focus will always be on God and His will, and that He will use each one of us in mighty ways as we serve the beautiful people of this developing country.

"When God's people are in need, be ready to help them..be eager to practice hospitality."
(Romans 12:13)

If you prefer to send a check, please write “Kenya 2020 Hannah/Tracy Bennington” in the memo section and mail to Freedom Church 1705 Conowingo Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014.

You can also give online and choose “Kenya” from the drop-down Fund list, and write “Kenya 2020 Hannah/Tracy Bennington” in the Envelope Number section at www.kindridgiving.com/app/giving/kindrid-xu0f52o

If donations exceed our goal, we will help other first-time missionaries on our team to meet their financial goals, we will also use your gifts to purchase necessary supplies for the trip, and we will offer support to Pastor Andrew and his church as they continue to reach out to local communities and support the Amani Children's Home (where children have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS, poverty, and war).

We look forward to being a part of the Great Commission and supporting our ministry partners in Kenya, and we fully expect God to do great things in each of us. We look forward to posting updates about our trip and sharing our adventures with you. You are important to us!
