Please note this campaign is being launched on behalf of friends and family of Ken and Donn Williams.
Ken Williams age 52, is a devoted family man with a loving wife, Donn Luque Williams, and three beautiful children. He is a welder with Island Tug and Barge in Seattle, WA. Aside from his undeniable passion for his family, Ken is an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and rider. If not tinkering with or riding his Harley, Ken enjoys metal detecting and especially panning for gold to find his next big treasure.
Tragically, on Christmas Eve Ken suffered a massive heart attack that almost cost him his life. The Cardiologist referred to it as a "widow maker" in which 7 out of 10 patients do not survive. He was on life support and a medically induced coma for his first 15 days in ICU in addition to testing positive for the flu, developing pneumonia, being in complete kidney failure due to the heart attack and requiring daily dialysis. These are just a few of the hurdles during Ken's time in ICU. Ken was in the hospital for 32 days most of which was in the Critical Care Unit. It is a true miracle that he survived. But his fight is long from over! In addition to his out of pocket medical expenses, Ken will need continued rehabilitation with physical and occupational therapy to help him regain his mobility, fine motor and communication skills just to name a few. Keeping in mind this is on top of his continued dialysis as his kidneys have not regained full function at this time. It is unknown if this will be a lifelong treatment.
We are looking for assistance with medical expenses, rehabilitation, after care, and assistance for the family until Ken can return to work. Please keep in mind that every single dollar amount counts! For example, if we had 1,000 people willing to give $5.00, that is $5,000...every bit adds up and goes a long way.
