Kenneth and Amanda's Journey to Parenthood

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For many years we have prayed and greatly desired to have a family of our own. Our story begins when we first starting dating seventeen years ago! We knew then that a family was something important to us both. We married in September 2009, and shortly after left for the military. After arriving back in Richmond surrounded by our family and friends we embarked on the journey to becoming parents. Never did we imagine the desire in our hearts would lead us here.
In 2017 we began our first IVF journey! Our emotions were tangible as the idea of the family we prayed for seemed like a close reality. Many months later, filled with lots of hope, countless blood draws, tests, injections and some unsuccessful transfers along the way we were pregnant with our Christmas Baby! However, shortly after sharing our excitement with our families, the unexpected occurred and we had a miscarriage. After the devastating loss of our baby, we took some much needed time to allow our hearts to heal. Now we are ready to continue on this journey to make our biggest dreams come true, becoming a momma and a papa!
For those who may not know IVF is extremely expensive, with costs around twenty-five to fifty thousand dollars. These costs are all up front. Our first few years of this journey we were able to financially provide for treatment on our own through personal loans and savings, but now we are asking for the support of our families and friends to help our dream come to fruition.
As you can imagine this is an extremely sensitive situation. We are hopeful as we continue this journey, yet nervous about opening up and sharing our story as it can bring forth many questions and unintentional hurtful comments. We are happy to talk you about our journey in a positive truthful light. We are extremely grateful for all who decide to donate and welcome your postive thoughts and prayers.
