Bereavement Trust: Children of Kendall Johnson
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and members of the many school and music education communities that touch the lives of Kiyomi and Madiba:
I, along with other friends of the family have started this campaign to raise money towards the educational and musical future of Kiyomi and Madiba whose father Kendall suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on Mothers Day - Sunday May 12, 2019.
Kendall loved music of all genres and was very proud of the children's accomplishments in music and in their education. He reminded them constantly of the beauty that music brings to life. We are inviting you to help Kiyomi and Madiba to continue their music studies and their education - to fulfill Kendall's dreams for them, and for their own healing...
Madiba is currently studying viola and violin in the Pre-College program at the Juilliard School. Your support will ensure that he continues his studies as he further develops into a beautiful spirit that brings joy to the world through his music.
Kendall has passed away just at the time that Kiyomi is preparing to graduate from high school and pursue higher education studies. Before heading off to college Kiyomi will take a gap year to focus on her own personal healing. Kiyomi wishes to spend time in the Blue Mountains of Australia farming and working in wildlife conservation. Your donations will bring this dream closer to reality. When she returns, Kiyomi will pursue undergraduate studies at Earlham College in Indiana.
Funds raised through this campaign will be divided equally among two 529 College Savings Funds for Kiyomi and Madiba unless the donor specifies that it should be used to supplement Madiba's music education or Kiyomi's Gap Year. All donors will receive proof of use of funds.
Kendall and Shindy have always instilled in Kiyomi and Madiba the importance of hard work, education and giving back to their community. Please help us keep Kendall’s memory alive by being part of this scholarship fund to continue their education and music studies. Shindy will keep everyone involved abreast of the children’s development. We thank everyone in advance for their love and kindness to the Johnson family.
These two children have experience loss and trauma over the past year or so, culminating in their father's sudden and untimely death. Please help us to continue to show Kiyomi and Madiba that there is too much love in the world and that they will "Never Walk Alone."
Thank You,
Eliza Coleman, Simone Wolfe McGuire and other Friends of the Johnson Family
