Ken Shepard Death Expenses & Support for Jan

Ken Shepard passed away unexpectedly on February 9th, 2020.  Ken and his wife, Jan, are the kindest and most generous people you could ever meet.  My husband and I met the Shepard’s while working at Swift Transportation.  We formed a group of other married drivers and would often meet up for dinner, friendship, and laughter.  

Ken was a car guy and loved taking people for rides in his Jeep Cherokee SRT.  He would start the ride with “you better brace yourself”.  One of the greatest thrills of his life was completing  the SRT Experience at Daytona.  He loved watching car shows and auctions.  

He was knowledgeable about almost everything.  He was a constant student and watched more YouTube videos than anyone I’ve ever met.  If knowledge is power then Ken was a supernova.  He could MacGyver anything with Google and YouTube. 

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to talk to Ken, whether in person or just on the phone, instantly fell in love with the kindhearted bear of a man.  He was the type of person who went out of his way to help his friends and he never met a stranger.  If someone was in need, he and Jan would step in and help. 

He was very active on forums and groups on Facebook.  If he didn’t know an answer, he would immediately begin to research so he could give you a solution to your problem.  He not only donated his time to people in need, but also quietly helped people financially expecting nothing in return.  He would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  

He was so generous with his compliments and lifting others up.  Ken was very empathetic to the plight of others.  He was one of my favorite people.  We have so many good memories of him and Jan together laughing.  

Ken and Jan most recently drove together as a team for FedEx Custom Critical.  With his passing, Jan has decided to move near her family and no longer will be driving for FedEx.  We have set up this page so Jan can pay for Ken’s death expenses as well as the expenses of moving and transitioning to a new job.  

We are hoping to raise enough money so that Jan may take the time she needs to grieve her husband, partner, and friend without the added stress of trying to find a new job immediately.  Her family and friends are giving her the emotional support she needs during the time. We wish to help ease her financial burden. Thank you for anything you can give.
