Kelsey's Immigration Lawyer Fees

Immigration is difficult: logistically, financially and emotionally.
When I was in the fourth grade I decided I wanted to live in America. I don't know why or how I was going to do it, I just knew I wanted to. I worked diligently and tirelessly throughout my scholastic career to be accepted into an American university & luckily NYU offered me a spot! I moved into New York City in 2013 & began to mould a life in the United States.
Fast forward to 2018: I have successfully completed my studies, magna cum laude, and have landed an amazing job at a company I adore. Unfortunately, my visa expires in May 2018 & I have reached the time of applying for a new visa type: the O1 visa.
This visa is colloquially known as an "artist's visa" & has a long list of requirements. In order to successfully file for this visa type, I need the help of a lawyer and a work organization. I have been very privileged to have the support of my work & have sourced a lawyer who is willing to help me file.
My lawyer has given me the following cost breakdown:
A total cost of $7500 start to finish, broken into 3 installments.
The first installment of $2500 will help me begin the filing process & will hopefully lead to a success story. If the application is successful, the remainder of the costs are due. This is when I'll need $5000 to complete the application.
I have been so fortunate to have received the support of my parents, both emotionally and financially in all my endeavours, but I need your help with this one.
I have been so privileged to have known so many warm and wonderful people in this country & these years in the States have been the absolute time of my life. Immigration is indeed difficult & tremendously hard work, but I am so grateful for the opportunities this country (and my support system) has given me.
I appreciate you taking the time to read and, if you are able, your donation, no matter how small. Every little bit helps. Thank you for helping my future!
