Keli Frye's Memorial

Keli is 33 years old. She’s a mom of two awesome little kids. She is a daughter, sister, girlfriend, and best friend to so many! Keli is always the life of the party. When she walks into a room she brings the fun time with her. She cares deeply about everyone around her and is always the person trying to keep the peace and make everyone happy. If you need someone to listen, you know you can call Keli. As a mom she gives everything to her kids and her boyfriend’s kids too. She loves getting ready for all the holidays and doing all the traditional activities with her little ones. She’s an active participant in her kid’s school and sports. As a friend she is the person you call when you just need someone to vent to who will always have your back. She will lift you up when you’re down; make you laugh when you’re sad; and trash talk when you need to get it all off your chest. As a sister she is devoutly supportive and always forgiving. She looks at her brothers through rose colored glasses; there is nothing they can’t do as far as she is concerned. As a daughter she has made her mom so proud! She looks up to her mom and tries to raise her family with the same love and support as she saw growing up.

On December 4th 2017 Keli went to work with what she thought was a just a bad migraine. After throwing up and having a seizure a co-worker called 911. Keli had suffered a brain aneurysm and severe brain bleed. She was life-flighted to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she had emergency brain surgery. Those who know Keli well are grateful she is the type of person who wouldn’t let a headache keep her home from work. That simple choice put her around people who were able to get her the help she needed quickly and most likely saved her life. Keli’s mom and twin brother immediately flew out to be with her and her family in North Carolina. Her mom is still by her side.

Since entering the hospital it has been a constant back and forth battle. Things seemed like they were going as well as they could be in this type of circumstance because Keli was speaking at first even though it was with some confusion. After a few days the severity of the brain trauma and the amount of setbacks was apparent and Keli hasn’t spoken since. After the initial trauma she suffered subsequent strokes. She was put into a medically induced coma.

Currently the situation is very uncertain. We celebrate the little things like when she is able to open her eyes on command. With these types of injuries no one is able to tell you how much a person will regain because it is different for every person. We are praying that the strength Keli has will help her fight through this and come back to us. We are keeping faith in God and praying the doctors looking after her are doing His will.

What we do know is Keli has been in the ICU for five weeks so far, and is in the intermediate ICU now. We know she will need constant daily inpatient therapy for the foreseeable future. We do know that this is going to be a very long, rough, and expensive road.

We are asking for donations for Keli’s family. She has two young children, a house payment, a car payment, maintenance bills, and now major medical bills that her boyfriend and family are now taking on alone. The hospital Keli is at is a 45 minute drive that her family makes twice daily. Once there they have to pay for parking and food. Her mom, Dorothy McClure, has been by her side since the day this happened on FMLA from her job without pay as well. She will be the beneficiary of the gofundme page using the money to help support Keli's family and to help pay for Keli's recovery.

Anything you can give to help will be greatly appreciated! The money will be used to help supplement the income that Keli use to provide her family, and help allow her family the ability to stay with her without constant monetary worries. There is no clear end date to what has happened unfortunately, and we won’t know the extent of the damage for quite some time either so prayers are also very much appreciated.
