Keesh's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
My name is Keesh Winkler-Smith and I have stage 4 breast cancer. I was officially diagnosed on the 9th of August. It has been one hell of a journey -- one of anxiety and fear, as well as one of hope and promise. I have been learning many lessons along the way. Mainly, how to surrender, ask for, and to receive help. I have been a makeup artist for more than 30 years and have been working in general since the age of 15, without pause. I have been fortunate to be healthy for the majority of my life. I give thanks for these blessings.
For the first time, I am not able to work and it is difficult to adjust to. In order to fight the good fight and to take time to recover it has become necessary for me to do what is most difficult for me to do. That is, to fall back and trust that my community will catch me. I will need help with medical and daily living expenses. For instance, I just attempted to fill a cancer med prescription that my insurance doesn't cover. The prescription costs $315. Life just got real!
So -- whatever you can give, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to give financially, please keep me lifted in prayer.
Please see my Cancer Journal via CaringBridge website to follow me along my journey.
