Please help save our dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend Viola Maka repair her heart valve! Viola, is 24 years young, a beautiful young Tongan who is in desperate need of heart valve repair to avoid her heart from failing.
Viola visited her brother in Australia, 2011. During her visit she noticed her body starting to swell and had trouble breathing. She was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with kidney failure & severe valvular heart disease. This recent diagnosis is in addition to having already been diagnosed with Lupis, a chronic inflammatory disease where her body's immune system attacks her tissues and organs.
Australia's medical team explained to Viola and family her condition and the required medical attention she needed to live. viola and family made a difficult decision for Viola not to return to her mother and family in Tonga, but reside in Australia and undergo further treatment that otherwise wouldn't be available on the islands of Tonga.
Since her diagnosis, Viola was granted a visa to stay lawfully in Australia. She has applied for Medicre and was deemed not eligible due to her resident status, left with no other financial resources to help pay for her medical expenses. Her father passed away in 2008 and her mother's income in Tonga doesn't meet the day to day basic needs.
Viola's cardiologists has released a letter stating that her mitral and aortic valves are severely leaking and requires urgent cardiac surgery to repair the valves or result in heart failure and death. The surgery that Viola requires to live costs up to $100,000.00 excluding follow up care thereafter.
Viola's family and friends from around the globe are teaming up to pray and raise the funds together to save Viola's life. We are reaching out to the community asking for help in any monetary donation to help Viola live. All funds raised, will go directly to pay for her heart surgery at Wesley Hospital.
