Keeping Mi Familia Grounded

All that know us, Mi Familia, we are a family of a very, very modest living. On November 1, 2016 we were blessed and are still and pray to ALWAYS be the Mother, Grandmother of 8 month old Saiul Marrero. Seeing him, his eyes and that SMILE will melt anyone. He is a Warrior of Cystic Fibrosis and he is Our beginning and end to each and every day.
With this comes unexpected, day to day, week to week needs for supplies, cleaning supplies, special formula, etc. Although tight, we have always managed to make it happen! His Mother, Nacida, is continuing her education at GA State using online access and is working as often as the situation allows. I am working full time and from time to time doing some odd jobs. In short, I am the sole provider for Mi Familia.
Saiul cannot be in day care, and we have to be cautious of public transportation for Dr. appointments. We can’t wait with other patients in waiting rooms, so we hang out in car or stroll him around until they're ready for him. He is only allowed limited outdoor activity for now, and presently has a fungal infection that we will have to either replace all mats, pillows, etc. or if the new medicine works, we do another thorough cleaning of our apartment (this is done every other day in our home).
This is Saiul’s life for now, but we see so much more for him in years to come. Having both of us working would ideally be great, but this would require us seeking and being confident with someone that will be attentive to his meds, special feedings, CPT treatments and the main factor, importantly, affording it!
Recently due to a negligent driver running a stop sign, I was in a car accident that totaled our fully paid for 94 Toyota Camary and unbelieved by all witnesses that I am here today. I am very, very Thankful to God and my Guardian Angel that I am here…presently in physical therapy and continuing to work.
So the reason for doing this campaign now is that my usually taking from Peter to give to Paul has now got us in a urgent need to get caught up from this past month and half. The totaling of our car and the unforeseen and unplanned need for transportation expenses has put us in a very tight financial bide. Our need for transportation is essential. With this assistance I will be able to keep Saiul on a heroic path, get caught up with all household expenditures and while continuing to seek a very inexpensive vehicle.
Getting to work, (No MARTA stop near) getting Nacida to work, (no MARTA service) getting Saiul to Dr. and clinic appointments, urgent care clinics, prescription pickups and more. The expense of rental of a car has been draining and has begun to make it difficult to maintain all regular monthly obligations and what is needed for my family, mainly Saiul. I am continually seeking a car with favorable terms but yet not able to purchase one.
Please, I know many like us are check to check families, but if you understand and can help in any way, we would be very, very Grateful.
