Keeping TahLume’s Doors Open

Donation protected
When we fell in love with Lincoln City two years ago and decided to move to town and purchase a local business (The Red Cock) our intention was to be life long residents who invested into the town, building a business(es) that we could pass down to our children. We are single moms who have invested everything we have personally into turning the store into something we believe in. In December of 2019 we rebranded and turned the shop into something that was ours - TahLume. On March 4, 2020 we moved to a smaller location in the Nelscott Strip and were open for only 10 business days before we closed due to Covid-19. After renovation and moving costs, our coffers were already low, but we did everything we could to reimagine the business and keep it afloat by going online with nearly all of our products.  Limited sales have helped to keep us afloat until now, but after two months of having received no assistance through government loans or grants, still navigating even being able to receive self employed unemploymen - a system that is confusing and overworked leaving those of us who work for ourselves hoping that at some point we may see funds, and falling through nearly every single crack in the aid system, our resources have run dry.  The limited back up money we had has gone to feeding our children, and paying any business expenses we were unable to defer with assistance programs.  We were also days away from taking over another small business when the pandemic forced the state to go to Shelter-in-Place - putting our plans on indefinite hold with our funds still tied up.  Our only goal with this GoFundMe is to ensure our brand new landlord - the owner of La Roca - receives money for lease/rent for our new shop location. They have been wonderful in working with us on rent, but our inability to pay this month affects another small local business.  Having deferred bills and operational expenses through our vendors and companies that offered COVID-19 deferral programs, the overwhelming reopening costs will affect our ability to remain an open physical location. We want to stay here - to raise our children here, to participate in the community, and become real life long Lincoln City locals. Thank you so much for any help anyone provides... all money raised will go towards ensuring the store is able to remain a community staple at the end of this pandemic
