Keeping Our Skoolie Dream Alive

Hello! We are Tanner and Sidney we have  two dogs Aspyn and Boog, and we have been building our tiny home of wheels for just over 2 years now. We were finally ready to hit the road then on our first trip out our transmission broke, this is where the hardship started. We did some research, looked for recommendations and found a company by the name of Provincial Powertrain LTD in Nisku Alberta to complete to repairs on the transmission. After installing the newly rebuilt transmission and paying $4000 dollars the transmission did not work. We had the same problems as when it originally broke. We decided to send our tiny home back to Provincial Powertrain LTD and get the unit repaired. Since the transmission never worked, despite this being a guarantee, we were under the impression that the rest of the repairs would've been under warranty. The repairs dragged on for four months and finally we decided we needed to get our home back before winter. When we told the mechanic we would be towing our bus back home as obviously he wasn't going to complete the work he informed us for the first time we had an outstanding  invoice of $5000 for a second rebuilt transmission but our bus was entirely in pieces including a broken hood, and we had never approved any work! Prior to installing the new transmission we decided to get the transmission tested by a seperate shop closer to home and it turns out the second transmission was faulty and did not meeting the minimum requirements according to the manufacturer. We have tried to get a refund from the mechanic but it is looking like he is a "professional debtor" and we can basically sue the company and get nothing in return, only a piece of paper saying we won the lawsuit and never be able to collect any cash. We are trying to raise money to get our bus back on the road with a new transmission and keep this dream alive.
