The Electric Church has been a DIY creative space for over 3 years hosting a variety of shows ranging from psychedelic music to experimental pop electronic acts and has hosted art galleries, private parties and LGBTQ events.
It has been the home of light show artist and poster graphic designer Fez Moreno who provides the in-house state of the art Ether Wave Light Show for every band that plays at The Electric Church.
Due to the recent COVID-19 breakout and the city having to shut down all music/food/bar industries in order to help fight this outbreak it has affected small DIY businesses, this being the case for The Electric Church.
The Electric Church doesn't have any financial backup and has been paying their small staff and artist/labels/promoters they work with based SOLELY on a door fee. That door fee also covers rent, utilities, and other bills that must be met in order to stay open.
We are aware that everyone from Austin's local bar, restaurant service industry as well as club owners and local musicians have taken a big financial hit from this unprecedented global pandemic. The Electric Church team strongly believes that as a community we can take the right measures to keep everyone safe and help stop the spread of COVID-19, but we also strongly believe in the community helping each other financially through these tough times whether it's by ordering curbside service or putting a delivery order from your favorite local bar/restaurant .
