Columbia Public Schools opted on Monday to send our K-5 students and teachers back to class 4 days a week, starting Monday Oct 19. No one was prepared for this option! Teachers are scrambling to make sure they can keep both themselves and their kids safe during this transition. With little room for social distancing, teachers are doing their best to come up with alternative solutions and cleaning supplies that will be needed.
We're helping to offer a space where people can donate so we can collectively compile resources for teachers needing anything from masks to air purifiers.
A group of teachers has put out a list of suggested items for individual purchase, which can be found here: tinyurl.com/YYPVUHJD. We're hoping that by collecting small (and larger) donations in one place, we can perhaps make bulk purchases at lower cost and/or give teachers a fund for needed supplies.
