Keep Nowoodstock Rocking On

NOWOODSTOCK NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!

Nowoodstock is a labor of love. Year after year we have paid our bills with little or nothing left over. We are not here to make money. We are not here to lose money. We are here to enjoy the best music Wyoming has to offer.

With that being said we are rapidly approaching Nowoodstock XVII and many of our sponsors are struggling or no longer in business. Add in a 92% reduction in grant award and we are facing a deficit of $10,000 to $12,000 going into this year's festival. There is no price increase again this year. But we need to increase the revenues so we can pay for this year's event and continue it in the future. At first glance, the size of our deficit is daunting. But we have a plan.

The first strategy is informing our current sponsors of the situation. Several have upped their contribution to the festival after hearing of our difficulties. All our sponsors are important to Nowoodstock and we appreciate everything you have done for us in the past and in years to come. Those that have increased their donations remind us what a gift this support represents. Appeals will be made at the festival for new sponsors for 2018. If you own a business or you are personally able to afford a sponsorship and you regularly attend Nowoodstock, please sign up at the T-shirt booth at the festival or call. Positive responses will hopefully allow this to be a one-time plea for your help. Sponsorship levels are defined in the Nowoodstock Sponsors Agreement which can be found in the Forms and Applications tab at nowoodstock.com

The second strategy is to increase attendance. This is where YOU can help. Everyone who is coming to this year’s event is strongly encouraged to bring as many friends as they can. This is the easiest way to make a huge dent in the deficit. Cajole, pressure, blackmail, strong arm, or strongly suggest to your fellow music lovers to come with you. Tell everyone you know what a great experience Nowoodstock has been for you. We really need an increase of several hundred at the gate if the festival is to continue beyond 2017. Some of the effects of increased attendance are being addressed. The Ten Sleep Rodeo grounds are available for festival parking and overnight RV vehicles at no charge. RVs and tent campers can also stay at the Ten Sleep Brewery a mile west of town for a very nominal fee ($3.00 per person per night). RV hookups are not available at either of these locations. But there is plenty of space.

Our final strategy is an account at gofundme.com. Donations to help Nowoodstock get through this year can be made on the Internet. Links to this site are available at Nowoodstock.com and the Nowoodstock Facebook and Instagram pages. No donation is too small. Nowoodstock is not a “not for profit” organization. If you would like to be acknowledged for your donation, we would love to accommodate your wish at this year’s festival. If you would like to remain anonymous, we will respect your wishes.

Nowoodstock presents a variety of musical styles to people of all ages. It also gives folks an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Ten Sleep and to enjoy each other. Nowoodstock wants to be here for you now and into the future. Please help us continue the festival. Hope to see you at Nowoodstock on August 11, 12 & 13.
