The Ward and Mason family have created this page on behalf of Jayna Ward Gutridge and her loving children Ethan and Amelia.
Jayna was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in 2013, after undergoing major surgery and completing treatments Jayna was cancer free.
November 2015, Jayna was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The triple negative result meant Jayna would be facing a challenging journey. Again, she underwent surgery and made it through the grueling treatments and still cancer free. Late, 2017, Jayna received the news that her cancer was back for the third time and has spread. Her current medical diagnosis is Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer.
We remain hopeful and continue to trust in God.
Jayna’s continues to have a positive outlook, adventurous and a fun-loving spirit. She has maintained a successful career as a Human Resource Professional for a decade and with her current employer for two years.
Jayna was an active participant in the clinical trials at MD Anderson Hospital who recently ended. She would take the children to daycare, travel to the office and then leave for her weekly scheduled lab and chemo treatments. Jayna's mind was indeed made up that cancer was not going to hold her down.
However, the clinical trials have taken a toll on her health, and reluctantly she decided to request medical leave from her current employer. This decision has left her with limited resources, depending on family and friends. Due to her pre-existing medical condition, she has been denied
long-term disability and is not eligible to receive Social Security.
Jayna is currently receiving care at MD Anderson Hospital located in Sugarland, where her oncologist has ordered weekly rounds of
Jayna's medical bills continue to rise, which is adding more stress to an already dire situation. She needs around the clock care as well as other
medical supplies that will aid in providing her the best quality of life.
A mother will do anything for the sake of her children. Ethan and Amelia are Jayna's precious gifts from God. They are the reason that she continues to fight the good fight of faith. We realize that God is ultimately in charge and nothing is impossible for him.
We are asking for your prayers and financial blessing during this difficult time. No contribution is too small.
Please do what you can to support Jayna’s fight; as she continues to Walk by Faith and Not by Sight.
