Did you know, Esther...
-moved to the U.S. from Nigeria in 2013 at the age of 16, and almost immediately, started college at CCBC, where she earned her associates degree?
-as an international student at the University of Maryland's School of Nursing, she has to pay out-of-state tuition, despite living here for years?
-to make ends meet, has been working part-time as an auto mechanic during the summers?
-also works as a nurses' aide in the ICU at the University of Maryland hospital?
-is no longer eligible for student loans and must pay her final semester of tuition ($8,000) out-of-pocket?
Esther has a compassionate soul and spirit, and loves nursing; but she can't become a nurse unless she finishes her last semester of nursing school, and she can't stay in the U.S. unless she does.
Esther truly has a servant's heart. On top of all her school and work responsibilities, she is an integral part of the worship team at our church, and volunteers with the youth and various outreaches to help those less fortunate.
The semester starts August 28th, and she needs at least $8,000 to start.
