Keep Eagle Man in Las Cruces

The Foundation for Las Cruces Museums, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit agency in place to support the City of Las Cruces Museums System, have a unique opportunity to present to you for the betterment of our community: the purchase of “Eagle Man.” This iconic sculpture by Michael Naranjo is currently on loan and resides in the courtyard on Main Street between the Museum of Art and the Branigan Cultural Center.

Michael Naranjo is a world-renowned New Mexico artist is a Vietnam War Veteran who sustained a combat injury that blinded him. He then became a creator of art that piques all the senses.

The Eagle Man statue was created to be explored and appreciated visually and tactilely. It is thematically Native American and celebrates the culture, heritage, and artistry integral to our region. Mr. Naranjo has offered to the Foundation a special price of $63,000. We are soliciting pledges from the community and donors like you to keep Eagle Man in Las Cruces.  All Foundation board members have made pledges for this project.
