Keep Donegal beautiful and wild

My name is Tony

I'm chair of the Graffy Environmental Group and we have started this fundraiser to defend our beautiful wild Atlantic landscape from wind farm speculators.

We are currently fighting a proposed development of eight 150 metre high wind turbines to be located at Graffy, near Glenties in Co. Donegal. The nearest family homes to these turbines are less than 700 metres away. This is also supposedly a special area of conservation!

Donegal is gradually being covered in these huge turbines that will turn our landscape into an industrial wasteland. Ironically this is all being done under the guise of being green!

Nothing could be further from the truth!

These wind farm developers are backed by investment funds from outside the country looking to make huge profits and cash in on the green agenda.

As usual in these situations, their resources are vast and ours are limited - so this is why we need to raise funds. We know if we get the council to reject their planning application they will appeal and go to An Bord Pleanála and then through the courts - that's the crazy planning system in this country!
