Keep Canton Clay Works Fired up

Donation protected
Thank you for contributing to keep the Canton Clay Works alive and well during these challenging times! We are tremendously grateful for every contribution that gets us closer to our goal of being able to reopen and support our community. Thanks to the funds from this campaign, we have been able to rehire four interns to help get the studio back in working order. We have also reopened the studio with a successful, social distanced, firing of our Naborigama kiln, with another one scheduled for the end of July, and our studio associates have been able to return to the premises with full access to all our services, albeit with increased social distancing proceedures.

CCW has been in operation for over 20 years offering the highest caliber of ceramic education and experiences to thousands of ceramic artists throughout the US. Our unique facility supports a thriving community of ceramic artists that will sadly be in danger of dissolution if CCW cannot recover from the financial crisis of Covid-19. After being closed for three months from March to June, we are slowly reopening with the greatest concern for our fellow potters' safety and well being. However, financial  debts continue to  built up, and coupled with declining expectations for quick economic recovery and the threat of the second wave of the pandemic reaching our community and forcing us to close again, there is significant concern for staying afloat and holding onto our building and facilities without asking for financial contributions.

Your financial contribution is directly connected to our chances of survival!

Since  closing in early March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all income  streams that keep the CCW operative have collapsed. We were forced to layoff our employees, all of whom are talented emerging artists. For CCW to open safely and successfully, we are in immediate need of financial assistance. Half of all funds received will go directly to the reemployment  of our dedicated and hardworking staff. Ten percent will be applied to scholarship opportunities (workshops, studio usage, and  frequent  firings) for artists suffering from the present financial crisis. The remaining 40% will be applied to the general overhead costs.

For more information and details, please feel free to contact Tim Scull.

Thank you for your time and considerations during these crippling financial times.
