I am 72 year old JD Richards. I am in a wheelchair and facing 8 major surgical procedures lined up in front of me after I have dental work done to rid myself of multiple abscesses and embedded teeth.
I am diagnosed as needing full joint replacement for both knees, a surgical procedure under my left cheekbone for nerve damage, left elbow for a pinched nerve, Carpal Tunnel surgery in both wrists, binding surgery internally, and needing cataract surgery in both eyes. I will be needing additional cervical fusion surgery. I have had two fusion procedures on C4 - C7. I have Teflon plates, 4 metal rods, and many screws in my neck. The 2nd fusion surgery repaired. The bone grafts did not heal properly and the discs were moving against nerves.
My wife is unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her son lives with us. He is 23 with Asperger's Syndrome and fully disabled.
08/12/2020 I had a fall getting out of my wheelchair and aggravated to the left of C7 disc in my neck. I have Teflon plates, screws, and 4 rods in my neck. Trying to be a bionic man at 72. I have been taking 3 meds for my various conditions. Hydro codone for knees and lower back. Baclofen to relax muscles around my neck, and Pregabalin for nerve pain in my neck, face, and left elbow. I receive pain injections every 3-4 months.
My wife's car will be repossessed. We have $115 in the bank for food for the rest of the month having already spent our food stamps. We have nothing toward the car note, car insurance, and food for the last half of August.
In the last month, I woke up with no feeling on my left side (shoulder, arm, hip, leg) 3 times for a period of over an hour. If it happens again, I will go to ER. I promised my daughter. I guess you can't live a long time without growing old.
