"Give Bella Some Breathing Room"On May 17, 2018, Isabella Nicole Marcello was born. She was immediately rushed to Toronto's Hospital For Sick Children for breathing issues which quickly went from bad to worse. Isabella has been diagnosed with right lung hypoplasia, GERD and eventration of her diaphragm which has led to a unilateral diaphragm paralysis on her right side. She has a feeding intolerance and is unable to feed other than by intravenous. Everyday she needs two different types of oxygen machines to help keep her alive.
In short, Isabella’s right lung is underdeveloped and her diaphragm is pushed up which has led to respiratory distress. She suffers from severe reflux disease which has made it difficult for her to tolerate any feedings, even through a feeding tube. Isabella is four months old and has never known anything but the hospital walls. She has been through far too many tests for a young baby - MRIs, CT scans, x-rays, ultrasounds, IVs and frequent blood work.
Every day she fights. Fights to breathe, fights to spend time with her family, fights to be a little sister and fights to live a normal life.

Both of Isabella's parents are not working while their little girl fights for her life and Isabella’s 2 year-old brother eagerly awaits her arrival at home.
