Grace, Her 3 Children and an Unimaginable Car Accident
This is a story about an extraordinary, honest, caring and devoted woman who was an aide for my mom for 5 years until my mom went into assisted living.
Grace is, and will always be, the best, most devoted mom to her 3 young children even though she had to struggle as the sole earner to make ends meet. She sometimes worked 3 jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over her children’s heads while making sure they were in the right schools to ensure they reach their fullest potential.
Sometimes people are just dealt a bad hand and their true strength and character is tested and revealed; Grace always had a smile on her face and made sure that her first priority was her kids and taking care of others around her. Our family was always amazed and proud of Grace’s strength and determination to raise, teach and nurture 3 young children who are smart, polite, happy and respectful. When Grace brought her kids to my mom’s house it always made her day and that was all she could talk about for days!
Unfortunately for Grace and her 3 children, last week a motorist ran through a stop sign and hit Grace’s car when she was taking her children to school. Grace is a great mother and took all the necessary precautions to ensure her kids were safe in the car; car/booster seats, seatbelts, etc. Sometimes these things are just not enough!
All three of Grace’s children had to be taken to the hospital.
Marcia (age 13) was so badly injured that she had to be airlifted to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital while Marlysha (age 6), Greg (age 4) and Grace were all taken to the local hospital.
After 4 days of being in the hospital, Greg and Marlysha were finally released. However, the story isn’t the same for Marcia as she is still in the hospital with severe heart damage.
Grace is basically living in the hospital with Marcia and is not able to work, their car is totaled, medical bills are piling, etc.
This family is in desperate need and is deserving of help! Let’s help them, even the smallest act of caring has the potential to turn this family’s life around.
Thank you so much for your consideration. Even if you cannot donate, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated!
