Study Abroad in El Salvador

Hola! My name is Khadja Carr and I will be studying abroad in El Roble, El Salvador this upcoming January 2015 semester. I am extremely excited to embark on this journey and rebuild a village school in partnership with Companion Community Development Alternatives Ltd. (CoCoDA) and DePauw University.

As a Forensic Biology major and Community Studies minor completing my final year at Guilford College, I am privileged to have this life changing opportunity of studying abroad for the January Term where I will be expanding my knowledge of El Salvador’s history and culture as well as its potential for economic and social prosperity.

As excited as I am to study, learn, and grow in El Salvador, studying abroad is not free and service learning projects are no exception. My goal is to raise $2,500 before departing for El Salvador in January to help cover fees. For food, lodging, transportation, and project contribution (bricks, cement, etc.), I will need about $1,650.00. The remainding $850.00 will cover my round trip flight and the cost of my VISA. Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. I am beyond hopeful for this amazing opportunity and I hope that if you are willing and able, you will make an investment in my future.

Gracias (Thank you!)
