Healing, Safety, and Justice for The Art Sob
Don protégé
Many of you know Kaye Rishad as The Art Sob .
I have known her as a friend for over a decade.
HER STORY
Kaye is an activist, talented artist, sexual assault survivor, champion of civil rights, and an amazing human being. Her vibrance is in jeopardy.
IN PRIORITY ORDER:
1. ART & CREATIVITY: ACHIEVED!
Kaye’s iPad recently dropped out of her bag and the screen cracked. Her bad luck continued when her computer began blue screening and shutting down. She needs to get replacements so she can continue to do art for the world.

2. INDEPENDENCE & SAFETY: Kaye is living in a situation where her beliefs are not accepted and the expression of her blackness is met with dismissal. She needs assistance leaving where she currently is.
3. MEDICAL: On January 7, 2021, Kaye was rear-ended in yet another accident. She is dealing with additional pain since. Kaye’s physical and mental health has declined. She has had multiple cardiac emergencies related to blood pressure, mental health crises, traumatic PTSD flashbacks and nightmares, thoughts of suicide, and she needs platelet-rich plasma treatments in her back as well as bi-lateral knee surgery to heal from the chronic pain caused by the accident. She's having trouble doing the basics right now - like walking. #nowalker2020

4. LEGAL: After being hit by an inattentive driver which caused permanent disability, she hired an attorney to handle things with her car insurance who of course, doesn’t want to pay her what she deserves. She began to notice her attorney was not being responsive, was not advocating for her, was asking her to do things that made her uncomfortable, began making decisions without her knowledge and consent and a month before her trial date, she found out that her attorney had not filed motions on time and had not prepared the case to go to trial but was still taking her money. Kaye began shopping her case around to other attorneys, who, due to the late timeline and the multiple mistakes and malpractices by her previous attorney have all requested a retainer. Kaye has secured an attorney for her disability claim; she is looking for an attorney for her malpractice lawsuit. She has also filed a bar complaint without litigation.
For those who cannot donate, thank you for reading Kaye’s story; you can still help by sharing with everyone you know so we can help Kaye through this difficult time. She’s spoken about the light at the end of the tunnel darkening - let’s bring it back!
Thank you!
