My name is Kaya, I'm a 28 year old singer and songwriter from New York currently living and performing in the heart of New Orleans. I, along with a badass collective of NOLA musicians, have a group called 'SAMBA SOUL.' Our soulful sounds are influenced by Brazilian Samba and Bossa Nova, as well as by music from the black diaspora around the world.
My sound has been compared to everything from Lianne La Havas, to Esperanza Spalding, D'angelo, to Corinne Bailey Rae. I've performed everywhere from Champion's Square to Carnegie Hall, from California to Italy, and I'm finally ready to launch my first album!
If you've come to this page, it means you're thinking of supporting indie music! Yay!
There are so many reasons why patronage is the way to go when it comes to music. Being independent allows you to have creative control over the artistic integrity of your work. These days, it's the way to go!
