Chad Paepke Family Support Fund

This page is to help my brother, Chad Paepke, and his wonderful wife and kids cope with medical bills.

Chad is the most stubborn and strongest man I know. He definitely has an opinion on everything and is always right, at least to his mind. This drives his younger sister crazy!! But then again I have no idea what I would without him in my life.

On March 31st, 2016 Chad was getting ready to take his children to the babysitter and head to work.  While getting his boots on he had the first of 3 seizures for the morning. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, his 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter witnessed the event. His son did not hesitate, he called 911, giving directions to dispatch. He described his dad's condition and he and his little sister followed directions to do what they could to help him. Neither child panicked. During this time his children witnessed his 2nd seizure, and then the 3rd while EMS was on sight.

We are still in the hospital, in ICU. Chad is still having seizures, but the doctors have yet to identify the cause.  Neither have they found a way to control the seizure activity.  Until they can do either, they have placed him in a medically induced coma to prevent any damage.

I completely believe that Chad will pull through this in time. But that also scares me.  What happens to the rest of his life? His bills still need to be paid. The upcoming
Medical bills are going to be astronomical. Worth every penny when he comes out of this, but still difficult to pay when you are or have been off work due to this serious illness.  His wife works as a school bus driver in our local community, but is where she needs to be, at his side during this time.  All of this is before any physical therapy he may need. When he wakes up we will be joyful, but the road to recovery will be a long one. I don't want to see him and his family lose what they have because of this.

I am not a person who asks for help often or lightly. We have been raised to take care of our own, but to help others - be generous and kind. Anyone who knows my brother knows he is a fierce and loyal friend who would do anything for his friends and family. The amount of love and support we have received has been staggering during this time. I will never be able to express my gratitude enough. But unfortunately his family's financial need remains. We as his family have and will continue to do everything we can. But we cannot do this ourselves. Would you be willing to help this extraordinary man and his family?
