Katy's unexpected health crisis

How to make a long story short. The week of Aug 21st I just didn't feel quite right, lots of abdominal pain. Thinking I had some summer flu/cold I stayed home from work for multipule days- no appetite. Not like me at all. By the 24th I started wondering if it was more, that actually needed a doctor. 1st emergency room visit they told me nothing was wrong and sent me home- after CT scans, blood and urine screenings (2 hours- givin nothing). The next day the pain is worse, what to do? Lets go back to the ER, again another CT this time with Iodine to light things up, more blood work and urine- (6 hours this time) Still docs show nothing, but give me pain pills and antinausuea meds, and I distinctly remember the doctor saying "its not like we are sending you home to crisis." Also follow up with your primary care.

Saturday and Sunday I stayed in bed, what else to do HYDRATE! Gatorade and water, I was growing more and more conserned as my urine grew darker and less. I'm hydrating what's going on? By Sunday night I started having trouble breathing, my chest hurt. My husband went to work concerned. I started calling to make appointments with my primary care and she didn't like how I sounded. My husband also deicided to come home because he didn't like leaving me either. At this point I my husband started driving me to Urgent Care, I was passing in and out of consciousness. For some reason my Kidney function had stopped, the space around my heart was filling with fuild which almost stopped my heart and my lungs were also filling up with fulid. Urgent Care called an ambulance and brought me into the ER. I spent 4 days in Intensive care rebooting my organs, I had tubes down my nose and in my lungs. My husband never left my side. Finally we were able to move into a regular hospital room and stayed there for 2 weeks.

Doctors are still unsure as to what actually happened but it looks like a bunch of my fight and flight responses turned off at the same time. I have a long road of healthing, my blood platelets were almost at blood transfussion levels, and I had to undergo heavy steriods to bring those up, there looks to be alot more tests to figure out my new normal. I have to take insulin now due to the steriods- hopefully once we actually know what my diagnosis is I can stay ahead and never have this happen again.

The money that I'm asking for will help with all the medical bills and other expenses that has come with this curve ball. I'm so fortunate to be alive and just cant wait to get back to as normal of a life as I can as quickly as I can.
