Katy McBride Hospitalization Fund

Our sweet KatyMcBride has been in the hospital since May 30th and has just been transferred to Shands. Her initial symptoms started with a severe headache and high blood pressure. After a myriad of tests she was diagnosed with Pheochromocytoma. It is a tumor close or attached to the kidney that secretes hormones, which have caused the extremely high blood pressure and swelling of the brain. Luckily, it is typically benign. Katy will have to undergo surgery to have the tumor removed, but her BP is still is not under control so the surgery is on hold until it is.

As you can imagine, it has been overwhelming for Mike and Julie, emotionally, physically, and financially. Katy will be in the hospital at a minimum of another 10 days. The cost of eating out every meal and hotel expenses will be exorbitant. In addition, there is uncertainty as to how much Medicaid will actually cover as the resilient Katy is never sick!

Mike and Julie are exhausted and feel that our love and prayers are all that are sustaining them at this point. This account has been created in an effort to help defray some of the costs associated with Katy's hospital stay and recovery, removing one worry from Mike and Julie's heavy load.
